Kim Carstens Piehl Owner of Olde Crow Gatherings

We raised our kids, and when they were almost grown, I saw an open space in Nisswa. We leased the space and started with all homemade items. It was hard work, but fun because my dream became a reality. After the kids were raised it became easier to do.

We sold the Ol Mercantile in 2007 so that I could help out my parents who had some medical issues, and then was out of the business until 2015 when I was asked to partner in a new venture.  The partner retired in 2020 and I took over the store. At that time, Tim said, 'I don’t want any part of it.' We laugh about that - he is always involved in some way, like it or not.

I love the store, especially using my creativity with the store displays. I get lost in the details… and meeting the people! People come through our doors from all over the place - Idaho, Kentucky, Texas, Colorado.  International places too - Asia, Europe, Sweden, Ireland, it’s amazing.

I love having a store in Nisswa.
